Home / CRS News / Welcome from the 2016-17 CRS President

As President of the Chicago Radiological Society (CRS), I would like to warmly welcome you to our 2016-2017 season!  We have a wonderful slate of speakers lined up this year courtesy of Program Director Vanessa Wear, MD, who is also our President-elect. Bojan Petrovic, MD has begun his term as Secretary-Treasurer and Vice President. With this strong and experienced team our chapter’s governance is in good hands.  I would also like to thanks Kenneth Pierce, MD, our immediate Past-President, for leading us through the 2015-2016 season. Under his leadership, our attendance reached its highest peak in recent years.

We are proud to serve as a chapter of the Illinois Radiological Society under the American College of Radiology.  We strive to fulfill our chapter’s role to provide professional involvement and educational opportunities for residents, fellows, and practicing Radiologists and Radiation Oncologists.  Additionally, we are involved in state and local governmental legislation and issues as they pertain to the specialty of Radiology.  With the uncertainty of the Affordable Care Act and reimbursement issues, CRS continues to provide members important updates in a timely fashion and offers means for communication with the ACR.

I sincerely hope that you will join us for our monthly meetings and experience how CRS can help you in you practice.  If you are a resident or fellow, I hope that you find the meetings to be a valuable addition to your academic training. If you are a practicing Radiologist or Radiation Oncologist, I hope that you will come visit us and see how the CRS can help you in your practice.

Thank you and welcome to CRS 2016!

Jonathan B. Strauss, MD, MBA
