About CRS

Who We Are
The Chicago Radiological Society (CRS) is dedicated to disseminating knowledge in the radiological sciences, hosting multiple educational meetings each year. Members of the society also engage in political and socio-economic advocacy for our profession at the local, state and national level.
The CRS has a long-standing tradition dating from its founding in 1913, and has the distinguished honor of being the oldest, continuously active radiological society in the United States. The CRS is comprised of physicians and other medical professionals who specialize in the use of radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, and serves as the local division of the American College of Radiology and Illinois Radiological Society.

Educational Meetings
Chicago Radiological Society hosts 6 educational meetings per year with programming designed for both practicing physicians as well as our members-in-training. Meetings are held one evening per month during the months of October, November, January, February, March, and April. Meetings are held from 5 pm to 8 pm in the Searle Conference Center of Rush University Medical Center. The meeting calendar and scheduled programming can be found here: https://

Advocacy
The American College of Radiology (ACR) advocates on behalf of the radiology profession and ACR membership with Congress, federal agencies, and state legislative and regulatory bodies. ACR provides resources for its members to learn about the legislative and regulatory issues with potential to impact the radiology profession. As the local chapter of the Illinois Radiological Society, CRS members can stay abreast of the legislative and regulatory issues in Illinois that may be relevant to radiologists via regular legislative affairs updates provided by our legislative affairs consultant. Additionally, the Legislative Committee of the CRS provides a voice for the positions of Chicago area radiologists on relevant legislative, regulatory, and economic issues in Springfield.
CRS members interested in getting more involved with advocacy are encouraged to join or engage with the CRS legislative committee.
Members of the American College of Radiology (ACR) who practice within the Counties of Cook, Lake, Kane, DuPage, Will and Grundy in the State of Illinois are automatically members of the Chicago Radiological Society. This extends to members-in-training at institutions in the same counties, by virtue of their complimentary membership in the ACR. Visit the membership section of the ACR website to review the many benefits of joining ACR.
